White Extra Stiff Pipe Cleaners
White Extra Stiff Pipe Cleaners
Share
Extra stiff white pipe cleaners, 30cm long, ideal for wire armatures for needle felting. Available in packs of 25 or 100.
The 'fluff' on these is a short cotton, ideal for wrapping wool around for wire armatures. You will find it easier to create poseable needle felt sculptures with these pipe cleaners as they are much stronger than normal craft pipe cleaners.
**Please note: these pipe cleaners are stiffer than ordinary craft pipe clenaer, but if bent back and forth repeatedly (5-6 times) they may break. If you need to bend the pipe cleaner repeatedly, our 0.5mm cotton covered copper wire may be more suitable. This is is about the same stiffness but much more malleable.**

How to make a wire armature:
A wire armature looks a bit like a very simple skeleton. Imagine the neck and spine of your creature (and tail if it has one), with simple legs attached. It can help to draw a profile view of the animal at the size you want to make it, then trace the line of the spine and legs onto the drawing. Make your wire armature to fit the lines you have drawn. You can fold a pipe cleaner in half and twist around your spine pipe cleaner to create 2 legs.

The owl is well made only small and hasn’t got a wide girth so, not the best for making big deep holes. It is sharp so that’s good. Remember this is for travel purposes so it certainly is useful and a lot better than making holes with your needles and useful for all the other naughty things we use Owl’s for. Picture with hand to give you a size reference.
Beautifully soft fibre, so easy so use for making my little mice!
Fastdelivery
Emailed to change delivery address. Was dealt with efficiently and package arrived at correct address quickly. The order is for a gift so i can't comment on product but based on information and ordering at the craft fayre and the service with delivery i would buy from this company again.
Every time I place an order I know it will be dealt with by professional, caring staff.
My orders have arrived quickly and the products are of high quality.
Thank you for being so efficient.
I received my box of wool yesterday. I’m so pleased with it and can’t wait to start using it.
Thank you xx
A box of feather-weight gorgeousness. Love the colours, just as shown on the website. The Blue Leicester locks are stunning.
Lovely item, promptly delivered.
Brilliant value. Love the texture
Bought these legs for my Needle felted chicks
Covered them with beige florist tape
They look great
I absolutely loved making this octopus kit. I had been looking for a while for an octopus kit but couldn't seem to find any - I then came across this one and couldn't resist! I had showed my dad needle felted octopus designs before (just by looking on the internet) but this was the one that he instantly thought looked great and I have absolutely no regrets.
I have never felt (touched) such luxurious wool - it is honestly so soft and lovely to use. I have tried quite a few kits now from other well-known brands though I am still learning but the wool has never felt this good - I realise now what a difference it can make. I didn't even realise that core wool could feel that soft - I want to get more (update: I have since bought the Lanolin Rich Core Wool from The Makerss because it is hard to go back to other types of core wool now lol - you should definitely try it! The Fox Red Variegated NZ Merino that comes with the kit is lovely too - I am now converted to carded wool now too as I don't think I'd tried it before [if I have, it certainly hasn't been anywhere near as nice as this] and from now on, it will be the main type I use, along with the Lanolin core). Honourable mention to the Luxury Red Pipe Cleaners which I used for the first time too - so fluffy!
Plus, in the YouTube video, Steffi recommends using a 38 twisted needle and that is soooo good for this project as it felts so nicely with the wool. Before now, I have mainly just stuck to triangle needles as I couldn't really tell much difference? But, let me tell you, the 38 twisted is a new fave now as it worked so nicely with this wool. Certain wools make certain needles shine (and vice versa) - that's one of the things I have learnt. Pure ASMR. I loved having the YouTube tutorial to go along with it because I am very much a visual learner and sometimes I can get a bit confused when just reading instructions (of needle felt kits in general)... it was my first proper make-a-long and it was so much fun! I didn't end up using the bit of dragon mix that was provided because I liked the octopus as it was (looking red all the way around) but I am excited to use it for something else.
Customer service has been super lovely too - I had actually contacted them about advice for a different project but they've been very supportive about the octopus too (I didn't ask for any advice regarding the octopus but I mentioned that I was completing it and they were rooting me on).
As an extra thing, I also got a piece of chocolate with the kit which was a nice surprise. I think I may have used a bit too much red at the beginning so I had to stretch that out a bit and the most difficult part for me was the webbing but I am so happy with how this octopus turned out. The effort was so worth it and I learnt a lot - this is my first completed project using armature too! It was a gift for my dad's birthday but I got the gift of making it, which was just as worthwhile.
P.S. My mum and little sister loved that the suckers were there when the octopus was turned over - they weren't expecting it and they thought it added so much :)
Great quality and very good price.
Very enjoyable. Good instructions very helpful to have the video too. Good quality fibre.
My first order of 100 pipe cleaners at the beginning of the year were absolutely amazing, best ones I'd tried from anywhere and were really strong and pliable with zero breakage.
Of course as soon as I was running low I ordered again.
What a difference, so disappointed. These new ones literally snap even moving them let alone bending and I've had to give up using them and try to find an alternative.
I did contact customer service but was told that they are no different to what they usually supply. Not sure whether their supplier has changed the manufacturer but they are definitely not. I've had pieces underway that have snapped at the shoulder when I'm simply wrapping core around, lots of wastage.
I was recommending these to everyone but sadly can't do that anymore as nearly every one I've tried to use has broken.
Really sad and disappointed.
Hi Nicki, sorry to hear you have had an issue with this product, we are currently investigating this with the supplier. We will refund your pipe cleaners and send you an alternative wire with our compliments.
These pipecleaners are a perfect foundation for figures - they are strong enough to take handling as you wrap wool round them to make arms, legs and bodies; and the soft cotton covering holds the wool well so it doesn't unravel, while being a short enough pile length to be concealed quickly if making quite slender shapes. Essential!
I didn't realise that there was such a difference in pipe cleaners until I bought these. I'm pretty new to felting and I'd bought some bog standard ones from amazon but they were really flimsy and too fluffy so wrapping them for arms was a bit of a mess and the wire was so thin as to be useless.
Got these to try out and I absolutely will be sticking with them, making arms and legs wrapped with flesh tone is now a joy and the the finish is so much neater and tight as it sticks well.
I really can't recommend these enough, they have made such a difference in both how my creations look but also the strength due to really good wire.
Strong and very easy to work with for felting projects. Love the fact they are fluffy which means fluff sticks to them easily and they are strong so you can change their position
Bought these because the ones I had from another supplier were not good enough quality for my current beadwork project. Delighted with your product and will pass your details on to like minded fellow beaders. Many thanks
