The 10 word review:
Everything you need to know about Waldorf doll making. Everything.
The longer review:
If you've ever wanted to learn about making soft dolls, then this is the book for you. Steffi Stern has created extensive patterns and instructions for a variety of dolls, from the simplest first doll all the way up to the big "baby" doll.
The foreward by Philipp Reubke and the first chapters explore "What is a Waldorf doll?", "Why Waldorf Dolls?" and "Doll Stories". Beginning the book with those topics is a great orientation for Waldorf doll making.
There is an extensive section on the materials you'll need for all the dolls, as well as a section on the skills you'll use for creating the dolls. Steffi Stern is a master doll maker and her instructions are clear and precise.
Making Soft Dolls has been gorgeously produced by Hawthorn Press. The illustrations that accompany the instructions are hand-drawn and colored by Lucy Guenot.

Super quick delivery
can’t wait to create this cutie
Low postage cost and it came in a couple of days. Thank you!
Loved this and enjoyed making all the kits included.
Excellent value for the money.
Makerss wool/viscose needle felting sheets for flat work is the best. It is thin and takes the needles perfectly. The white sheets are best when needing to needle felt bright colours. eg a blue sky for a landscape picture.
I wanted it to glue a brooch clip on to a little ceramic I was given. It really works well.
Lovely kit and accessories
I love the variegated batts that you get with Dragon mix. Great for 2D projects when doing landscapes. This is one of my stash that I wouldn’t want to run out of. 5* 🥰
A reorder of this lovely flesh colour fluff. It’s soft and easy to felt. Great for faces and paws. Speedy delivery.
Works very well and easy to use.
As always the box was brilliant
Just what I ordered
Brilliant for white projects, no bits of rubbish in it. Highly recomment this product.
This book is packed with information and illustrations and inspiration, for both beginner and experienced doll makers. I have mainly made felt dolls up to now, so this will be different for me. However, there is so much information and ideas that I will be able to make use of whatever style I decide to make.
