This digital PDF will show you how to make the head and arms of a figure using our famous "Moustache Lollipop" Technique! From this, you have the starting point on which to build to create a wide range of fairies and other figures!
Please note that these are very basic instructions that will allow you to create the head and arms of your figure only. If you would like to make a hanging figure (without legs), you'll have the base made which you can then decorate to your liking by adding hair, decorations, etc.
These instructions do NOT show how to make figures with legs/freestanding base. You will find free tutorials on our website that will show you to do this here:
- How to Make Fairy Legs (and for other figures too!)
-
How to Attach Pipe Cleaner Legs to your needle felted figures
-
How to make a Standing Base Figure (from our "Mary" Makerss Make-Along)
The file download link will be automatically emailed to you a few moments after purchasing.
To make the basic head and arms as explained in these instructions, you will need:
-
Standard Core wool batts
- Your choice of skin-toned wool tops
- Extra Strong Pipe Cleaners
- Extra Strong Thread
- Medium Felting Needle
You will then be able to use your figure as a base to create an angel, fairy, sprite, character... the possibilities are endless.
You will also need further materials, such as natural or dyed wool batts, natural or dyed wool tops, hand-dyed curls, Angelina Fibre, etc to customise your figure! These instructions do not show you how to decorate your figures - that is up to your own creativity, but you will find lots of inspiration on our YouTube channel!
Suitable for beginners upwards!

can’t wait to create this cutie
Low postage cost and it came in a couple of days. Thank you!
Loved this and enjoyed making all the kits included.
Excellent value for the money.
Makerss wool/viscose needle felting sheets for flat work is the best. It is thin and takes the needles perfectly. The white sheets are best when needing to needle felt bright colours. eg a blue sky for a landscape picture.
I wanted it to glue a brooch clip on to a little ceramic I was given. It really works well.
Lovely kit and accessories
I love the variegated batts that you get with Dragon mix. Great for 2D projects when doing landscapes. This is one of my stash that I wouldn’t want to run out of. 5* 🥰
A reorder of this lovely flesh colour fluff. It’s soft and easy to felt. Great for faces and paws. Speedy delivery.
Works very well and easy to use.
As always the box was brilliant
Just what I ordered
Brilliant for white projects, no bits of rubbish in it. Highly recomment this product.

I was disappointed with the simplicity of these instructions. It would help to provide level of experience needed. I'd place this at absolute beginners level.
Instructions are fairly clear, although sections are not explained, such as how top apply the dresses and how to felt around the stand.
