The Triple Layer Eco Wool Mat with one light and one dark coloured felt sheet is a luxurious version of our double layer Eco Wool Mat. The felt sheets act as a protective surface cover and can be changed according to which colour projects you are working on (light or dark). This protective cover prevents contamination between the mats and your project. Please note that the colours of the felt sheets may vary from the images.

Really good value and a good square size for larger felting projects, this triple-layer, eco-friendly felting mat works really well as an eco friendly alternative to foam or other plastic mats.

Note: the EcoWool Mat is made in the UK from recycled wool and is fully home compostable at the end of its life. The mats will fuse together after a few stabs and you can secure the felt sheet by tucking it in between the layers. 

Important when 2D Needle Felting: When felting flat on the mat, as with any other mats, you will have to lift off your work regularly to stop it from getting fastened on. You can use a ‘barrier’ to create a thin finish and/or stop any fibre contamination. Try using a grease proof baking sheet or our wool viscose felt sheets. These will help but you will still have to lift off your work regularly.

Large-sized eco mat - ideal for larger needle-felting projects,

I love using this mat which is, as the title says, ideal for larger needle-felting projects because there is room to manoeuvre whatever you are working on, without any danger of it falling off as can happen with smaller mats. The felt covering, with one dark side and one light side, helps to keep the project from felting into the mat (though you still need to lift the project occasionally of course).
