NOVEMBER Make-Alongs

 You will need: 

Tue 3rd November (Thu 5th)
Nativity: Joseph

Make Joseph as part of the Nativity. He measures about 10-12cm in height. This is also a great tutorial to needle felt a standing figure with legs using pipe cleaners and the 'moustache-lollipop' technique, as featured in the book Making Simple Needle Felts

For Joseph:

- 4g of Standard Core wool batts
- 2g of Flesh Pink South American Merino tops
- 2g of light grey-brown South German Merino wool batts
- 1g of Natural Black Stone Sheep Lamb batts
- Pinch of dark brown Milk Sheep batts
- 1g of brown/grey Blue Faced Leicester curls
- 2x 30cm white Extra Strong Pipe Cleaners
- 50cm of extra strong thread (tear-proof)
- 30cm of brown yarn
- 15cm twig or stick (for Joseph’s staff)
- coarse and medium felting needles
felting mat
- small sharp scissors

Tue 10th November (Thu 12th)
Nativity: Mary & Jesus

Make Mary and Baby Jesus as part of the Nativity. Mary is about 8-10cm tall. Baby Jesus will fit inside her cloak.

For Mary & Jesus:

- 5g of Standard Core wool batts
- 3g of Flesh Pink South American Merino tops
- 5g of Royal Blue NZ Merino batts
- 1g of Poppy Red NZ Merino batts
- 2g of South American Merino tops: Jet Black dyed South American Merino Tops OR Dark Brown natural South American Merino Tops
- 2x 30cm white Extra Strong Pipe Cleaners
- 50cm of extra strong thread (tear-proof)
- coarse and medium felting needles
felting mat
- small sharp scissors

Tue 17th November (Thu 19th)
Nativity: Donkey

Everybody loves donkeys and this one can be a stand-alone project or can be part of the Nativity... or both! The finished size of the donkey will be about 15-16cm in length.

Per donkey:

- 20g of light grey/brown South German Merino batts
- 3g of dark brown Milk Sheep batts
- 2g of cream Fox Sheep batts
- Wisps of Gotland White or Natural White NZ Merino batts
- 1g of Black dyed NZ Merino batts
- 1 pair of Black 5mm glue-in eyes
- 2x 30cm white Extra Strong Pipe Cleaners
- coarse, medium and fine felting needles
- felting mat
- Clear drying glue
- Scissors
- Wire cutters

Tue 24th November (Thu 26th)
Patterned Christmas Baubles

A super easy and quick needle felting make – great for a last minute Christmas decoration or make!

Per bauble:

- 10g of dyed wool batts of your choice
- Wisp of a contrasting colour
- coarse and medium felting needles
- felting mat
- small sharp scissors
- needle and hanging thread
