This design stood out to me as soon as I came across it! I think this was only the second time I had tried making a figure (especially the wire-wrapping for the arms and legs) so I was a bit nervous... but I'm very happy with how it turned out. Apart from the pearls, everything else (e.g. all wool/wire/pipe cleaners) is from The Makerss.
I made an Ariel-inspired Mermaid as a gift but used this pdf (and the 2-part YouTube video tutorials) to do most of it. Would definitely recommend! I also used 'Seashell Shimmer' and the extra strong white pipe cleaners for the clam shell (also used a different The Makerss tutorial for this which is on YouTube...)
Wool used:
- New Zealand Flesh Pink (skin colour)
- Pea Green batts (main long part of tail)
- Variegated Green batts (tail end and belt)
- Light Purple batts (shell top)
- Deep Red tops (hair)
- Variegated Turquoise batts (eyes)
- Red Rainbow Drops batts (mouth - but just used the red part rather than the little dots)
- I used basic core wool to start with then used a lanolin/basic core wool mix that is from the octopus kit as I had that in my stash (for underneath layers)
Such great materials to use and a really fun, exciting project! :)
