Flexible Steel Wire, perfect for creating light/small weight wire armatures for your needle felt creations.
20 x 45cm lengths.
This flexible wire is made up from 2 fine pieces of wire that are twisted and fused together (looks like the inside wire of a pipe cleaner without the cotton or chenille cover), giving it strength and a unique look and feel. The surface is uneven, with tiny ridges which makes it perfect for needle felting as wool can grip it with ease. Please note that the wire will rust if exposed to water/damp.
It can be easily sculpted, whilst still holding a rigid and stable position. The wire can be cut, bent or twisted together, allowing it to be used for multiple craft ideas.

from 1460 reviewsI love the colours and varieties of wool from the Makerss!
The teddy bear kit looks great, I haven’t started it yet but the instructions and the wool look great, the Earth pads are fabulous. Fast delivery, lovely seller, would highly recommend to beginner and experienced felters.
Beautiful mix of colours perfect for 2d felt picture, can visualise a vivid sunset over a beach scene. The Makerss are my go to when I need new supplies, great service.
I really like the product - wish it was available in larger amounts!! Seems out of stock now & I need more please restock soon
Just started needle felting landscapes. Top and bottom wool mats are just perfect!
Only wanted small amount of this colour so these batts are perfect.
Ordered as a gift for family member who has a talent for needlefelting. Can’t wait to see how this turns out
Lovely fast delivery.
Plus at last I have found a skin tone that is what is it called.
Very comfortable in the hand and lots of lovely colours to choose from. Could be useful to colour code needle to handle.
Lovely quality wool. Colours are bright and cheerful.
The items were well packed nd received quickly.
Excellent
I was a little nervous beforehand as I had never made a figurine before... but, I discovered how much I love figurine-making as a result! You don't know for sure until you try! :)
There are clear instructions but you also have the YouTube video to help (I'm a very visual learner so I enjoy a mix of watching the videos and using the instructions...)
This is also my first time using water soluble paper so that was a learning experience too.
Would definitely recommend! Such a cute fairy design! 🧚♀️🧡
P.S. I showed what the wings look like from both of the positions you can choose e.g. front-facing or placing them at the back :)
This is the second packet I have ordered for my needlefelted mice and rabbits. Easy to thread and look so realistic. Well worth using!
Delighted with my purchases and will definitely will be returning. Just what I needed for my current projects!
This design stood out to me as soon as I came across it! I think this was only the second time I had tried making a figure (especially the wire-wrapping for the arms and legs) so I was a bit nervous... but I'm very happy with how it turned out. Apart from the pearls, everything else (e.g. all wool/wire/pipe cleaners) is from The Makerss.
I made an Ariel-inspired Mermaid as a gift but used this pdf (and the 2-part YouTube video tutorials) to do most of it. Would definitely recommend! I also used 'Seashell Shimmer' and the extra strong white pipe cleaners for the clam shell (also used a different The Makerss tutorial for this which is on YouTube...)
Wool used:
- New Zealand Flesh Pink (skin colour)
- Pea Green batts (main long part of tail)
- Variegated Green batts (tail end and belt)
- Light Purple batts (shell top)
- Deep Red tops (hair)
- Variegated Turquoise batts (eyes)
- Red Rainbow Drops batts (mouth - but just used the red part rather than the little dots)
- I used basic core wool to start with then used a lanolin/basic core wool mix that is from the octopus kit as I had that in my stash (for underneath layers)
Such great materials to use and a really fun, exciting project! :)
I ordered this wire to make arms for my little witch and a pumpkin girl
This wire is great it is so easy to wrap the wool around
I think this will be my go to wire for my little people characters
Another great product from the makers
I use this wire for my larger makes. It's strong but can be positioned easily. Great for leg positions.
This is the best wire ever! At least it is the best for fairies which is all I’ve used it for so far, but I’m sure it will be good for the armature of larger creatures too as it is fairly firm yet easy to bend, and to cut using pliers. Because it is in fact two strands of steel twisted together, your wool will cling to it well, especially if you use fluff grip, lavender balm or a touch of glue to start.
